summer 2007

Hello everybody!!!
So as you will see is just around a year from my last post. I'd been very busy.
Jep and I travelled to Glasgow past December and I´ll upload some pics.

Now we'll be doing a short trip to Glasgow and later at half September will be in Rome and Reggio Emilia.

About this august short trip to Glasgow...we'll be doing some roaming around the city to gather information for a work included in Ciutats Ocasionals Project(which is running from 2005 and will finish with an exhibition at the CCCB in Barcelona in March 2008)

We'll be gathering info about temporary occupations of public space and together with other befriended cities will be collaborating in a group presentation to be displayed at the Documentation Centre during the exhibit.
.
The cities involved are: Morelia, Glasgow, Denver, Rome, Dakar...

You can look at www.ciutatsocasionals.net and soon will be adding pics and maps here.

safely arrived at home

I left Tallinn early in the morning and I had a pleasant flight. Jep was waiting for me in the airport with a wonderful and welcoming smile. At home everybody was happy and Sarah was jumping around to see the presents I bought for her. She loved the amber but specially the white chocolate with blueberries.

I´ll be adding some pics soon and I´ll upload to the net a web about the project.

You can see an article about Mooste at: http://www.epl.ee/artikkel/351020

tallinn views

15th of august, I had the whole day to wander around Tallinn. I wanted to go out of the old town and see a bit of the city center, the new buildings and local life buzzing. Rain catched me on the way so I sheltered myself in a bus stop for a while. If something is working really fine is Tallinn is the transport service...nobody waited more than a minute...amazing.

I finally made it to the city center and I did some pics of the modern buildings then I headed on towards the hostel area as I wanted to rest my leg ( better but still aching and itching)but I stopped at an odd building to see some old books. It was sad, everything was damaged by fire or water as some days ago some drunk person iniciated a fire in the area. I could stay there for hours just looking at the remains of much loved books but I'd got a call from Camille and Liz and I went to met them for a coffee.

There's no decaffeinated coffee in Tallinn. That's a fact. However we found a fantastic chocolatiere and we had some snack.
Later on the day I'd meet around Vida and her sister. She is going to be around still for 2 weeks.

In the afternoon I met Vesta, a wonderful woman from Tallinn who I contacted through a mutual friend. She showed me around the city and I had a fantastic time.

I'll try to return and see more around Tallinn as is a beautiful city full or surprises.

tallinn again

I'm in Tallinn again. We left Mooste around noon, we were a small party but one of the last ones in going today, as some people left very early and others are doing it tomorrow.

Journey has been dreadful, hot and incomfortable.

Just arrived to Tallinn I catched a cab in a second and I arrived fast and safe to the guesthouse. Luckily I had booked a single room. I feel more comfortable.
As I can't walk much I had ben coming an going, short walk, rest and so on...
Tomorrow I will do the same as I want to see my leg ok soon.

I'd beeb wandering around and I bough some small presents. Now I'm going to have a camomille tea and I will go to bed soon and I hope to recover a bit my strenght.

Day has started very rainy. My legs looks different but worst so I had been taken to the hospital in Pölva. They don't know what is it and they advice to me to apply a vodka compress to the painful area.

Day has been a bit of low key. We are less people now and the rain has been a bit of a pain as there's has not been much people around. I finally did my guided tour but completely under the rain.

At night has been a nice dinner and a dancing party later which people has been joining in stages depending they were looking at some closure performances or making their bags.

I tried to dance a bit but my leg was painful despite had been for ours soaking in vokda.

Again, pics soon.

12th of august. I woke up with a swollen leg and what it looked like an alergical reaction to an insect bite. I could not put my foot in the floor but I had to finish the work in my space for 2pm.

There has been a lot of buzz around, people working in their spaces, some performances had been going on all day. I had lot of visitors in my space and some have had some interesting inputs.

My leg has been bothering me all day and it looks even worst.
At 2pm has been the 300mts run with around 11 runners. The winner, a boy of 12, has received as award a kiss from Evelyn. After that the space had remanined open until 7pm and having continuous visits.

After some time to rest, a night of performances had been programed and has been a very interesting session. I'm off to bed soon as I want to rest my leg.

11th august

I had not much time to write in the last days and it's been difficult to find a hole to upload some pics. I had been very busy. I'had been going around with local friends to know a bit more about the village. I've seen beautiful spaces, gorgeous flowers and signs of a hard but somehow very peaceful and fullfilling life. I had also participating in the other projects developed here and having fun with all the spontaneous actions appearing.

I have an space in the old dairy and I'm having some help from Doris, Siim, Grigory and Teevi to leave it in conditions. In this space I'm going to display some of the maps and pics I'd been collecting.

As soon I arrive home I'm going to upload info and galleries to the section Zoographies inside my Milepost web. Also I'll add links and info of the other projects in the website so you can have the whole picture.

Bye for now

4th august

At my arrival on the 3rd weather was rainy but at night we could be in the lake because the temperature was mild. The 4th of august has been dry but a bit cold. I had been working in the photographs I'd taken on previous days and I started to work in a map template to use later in the walks around.
I'd been going on a long walk and I found a junkyard where I'd been a long time taking pictures.

I tried to do some sound recordings but village was busy today and there was a lot of car noises I didn't like.

Later on, after dinner we had a pleasant night sitting down in around a campfire and looking some video work.

keep looking at the pics, some more coming
